We are looking for an Area Engineer to support with a Shutdown in Teesside, the event is in June but there is work to keep this person busy until around July. The role has been deemed to be outside of IR35.

In short we are looking for intermediary between the PM & execution team, someone that can deal with the day to day management of contractors to ensure the project is on track, whilst also keeping the PM abreast of any issues or potential issues. 

The ideal candidate will have a background in either piping or mechanical and have shutdown & supervisory experience.

Brief outline of Role and Responsibilities include;

• Good People skills with clear Communication to wider Project stakeholders
• Accustomed with the scope of work ensuring the schedule is detailed, defined and a full briefing takes place with the Altrad delivery team.
• Familiar with Project specifications and that execution of the work is compliant
• Ensure safety arrangements are in place with any actions implemented
• Validate Labour and Equipment resource requirements
• Undertake job preparation in a structured and Organised manner
• Determine and understand critical path tasks within an area
• Ensure the Direct and Subcontractor delivery teams deliver high compliant standards of HSEQ, QA, Commercial and optimised working practices
• Ensure performance to Plan with special emphasis on hand back arrangements
• Good knowledge of pipework and structural work scopes with a mechanical bias back ground
• Lead resolution of any none conformances
• Advise the Site Manager of any potential problems / opportunities
