Job description
Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join one of our clients, a successful construction business based on the outskirts of Leeds, who require someone to join them to support the team due to maternity leave.
They are looking for someone who has strong, all-round finance experience who has gained exposure to the month end process which will enable them to hit the ground running.
The business are based near close links to public transport, offer free parking on site and have a modern and open-plan office space.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:-
- Invoice processing - both AP and AR
- Bank reconciliations
- Accruals & prepayments
- Assistant in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Communicate with budget holders to approve invoices
- Process the payment run, with support and authorisation from the Finance Manager
- Daily banking
- Assisting the Finance Manager with the month end process
