Assistant Accountant required to join a not for profit organisation based in Liverpool on a full time, temporary basis. My client is looking for a committed and highly motivated individual who is an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their dynamic and friendly Finance function.

As the Assistant Accountant you will assist the Senior Fund Accountant and Head of Finance with financial control, budgeting, closing of accounts and provide advise to other sections within the fund alongside other duties below:

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant

• Maintain and monitor collection of contributions income
• Reconcile income and expenditure transactions
• Assist with monthly budget monitoring reports
• Reconcile with financial accounts and ensure outstanding debts are actioned
• Assist with preparing VAT submissions
• Input journals into accounting system
• Assist the Valuations Officer with the valuations process
• Liaise with employers on accounting related issues.

Required skills and experience of the Assistant Accountant

• AAT qualified/QBE
• Experience dealing with finance functions
• Experienced with reconciliations
• Experience of preparing journals (desirable)
• Ability to manage own workload and meet strict deadlines
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
