About Us: We are seeking a skilled HR Business Partner to join a local authority on a three-month contract. As a key member of the HR Operations team, you will play a crucial role in providing HR support and guidance to managers and staff, contributing to the achievement of both local and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on policies, terms and conditions, and other HR-related issues in compliance with employment legislation.
  • Support, coach, challenge, and empower Directorate line managers in handling people-related matters such as disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Interact with local trade union representatives on individual cases or collective issues, fostering positive relationships with line managers, employees, and union representatives for efficient issue resolution.
  • Screen all vacancies, identify potential redeployment opportunities for employees on the redeployment register, and assist in matching them to suitable alternative jobs across the Council.
  • Conduct effective Job Evaluations, utilising benchmarking data to ensure fair, consistent, and objective assessments.

Qualifications:

  1. CIPD qualified or working towards this qualification with experience in a complex organisation.
  2. Proven track record of providing clear, balanced advice and guidance on HR issues.
  3. Experience of successfully working with Senior Managers on complex HR matters.
  4. Previous experience working in an HR department within a customer-focused organisation, actively facilitating and leading change.
