About Us: We are seeking a skilled HR Business Partner to join a local authority on a three-month contract. As a key member of the HR Operations team, you will play a crucial role in providing HR support and guidance to managers and staff, contributing to the achievement of both local and corporate objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on policies, terms and conditions, and other HR-related issues in compliance with employment legislation.
- Support, coach, challenge, and empower Directorate line managers in handling people-related matters such as disciplinary and grievance issues.
- Interact with local trade union representatives on individual cases or collective issues, fostering positive relationships with line managers, employees, and union representatives for efficient issue resolution.
- Screen all vacancies, identify potential redeployment opportunities for employees on the redeployment register, and assist in matching them to suitable alternative jobs across the Council.
- Conduct effective Job Evaluations, utilising benchmarking data to ensure fair, consistent, and objective assessments.
Qualifications:
- CIPD qualified or working towards this qualification with experience in a complex organisation.
- Proven track record of providing clear, balanced advice and guidance on HR issues.
- Experience of successfully working with Senior Managers on complex HR matters.
- Previous experience working in an HR department within a customer-focused organisation, actively facilitating and leading change.
