Our client, a large charity, require a talentedAutomation Test Engineer, to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days a week in the office.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated testing solutions for web and mobile software applications and systems. Your primary goal is to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications by automating the testing process. This job will be mainly around the integration of automated tests created by the Leapwork platform into the CI/CD pipelines.

Your Skills and Knowledge:

Essential

• Proven (5 years) of professional experience in test automation.
• Strong programming and Scripting skills (eg, Java, Python, C#) with experience in test automation frameworks and tools (eg, Selenium, Appium).
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Solid understanding of software development and testing methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment with Azure DevOps.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail, and strong appetite to learn new technologies.
• Familiarity with agile development practices and the ability to work in an agile environment.

Desirable

• Knowledge of web technologies, APIs, databases, and operating systems.
• Knowledge of Leapwork automated test platform.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

What will you be doing:

• Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to validate software functionality, performance, security and scalability.
• Test Planning: Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and QA teams to understand the requirements and create comprehensive test plans for automated testing.
• Integration: Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline for timely and efficient validation of code changes.
• Tool Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate test automation tools and technologies to streamline the testing process.
• Scripting and Coding: Although our client is adopting the Leapwork codeless test tool, an understanding of efficient and maintainable code/scripts using programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or other Scripting languages specific to the automation tools being used would be beneficial.
• Technical Documentation: Document test cases, test scripts, and automation frameworks, ensuring that all relevant information is readily available for reference.
• Training and Development: Stay up to date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in software development.
• Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in the post.
