Job Title: Senior Engineer - AWS Cloud Platform Infrastructure

Location: Greater London

Hybrid: 2-3 days on-site

Duration: 6+ months with potential extension

Start date: ASAP

Rate: 400-500 inside IR35


Role Overview:

In the capacity of a Senior Engineer specializing in AWS Cloud Platform Infrastructure, you will assume a pivotal role in advancing the modernization of AWS cloud Networking and integration.


Your duties encompass steering security and compliance changes originating from the DTS platform team. Within the Utility sector, your contributions will be instrumental in refining AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless assimilation of state-of-the-art technologies.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Spearheaded the modernization initiatives for AWS cloud Networking and integration.
  2. Resolve platform infrastructure challenges linked to diverse managed tools, such as Qlik Replicate and Compose.
  3. Investigate and rectify platform infrastructure issues across various AWS services, encompassing IAM roles & and policies, EC2, EMR, and S3.
  4. Drive and troubleshoot changes and issues related to network configurations.
  5. Lead and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for emerging AWS tooling, with a specific focus on tools like Lake Formation.
  6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and adhere to AWS best practices in platform infrastructure.
  7. Ensure the security and compliance of infrastructure in response to modifications initiated by the DTS platform team.


Key Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in identifying and resolving platform infrastructure issues tied to managed tools like Qlik Replicate and Compose.
  2. Expertise in diagnosing platform infrastructure challenges related to various AWS services, covering IAM roles & policies, EC2, EMR, and S3.
  3. Strong aptitude for driving and resolving network-related changes and issues.
  4. Practical experience with AWS tools, including proficiency in Lake Formation.
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in leading Proof of Concepts for novel AWS tooling.
  6. In-depth understanding of AWS best practices for platform infrastructure.
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for fostering effective cross-functional teamwork.
  8. Preferred background in the Utility sector or similar industries.
  9. Proven track record of steering modernization efforts within AWS cloud environments.
  10. Commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements in AWS technologies and best practices.
