You will be an experienced Business Analyst and will join a multidisciplinary team, supporting and continuously improving products of significant scale and complexity. You will work on the end-to-end journey of a service to help users complete their goal and to deliver on the aims of the organisation. You will plan, design and carry out analysis that helps the organisation and your specific team get a deep understanding of the context, environment and data that they need to deliver services that work well.
Your analysis may inform policy, business case, proposition, service strategy, service design, and content so that services deliver for users and help the organisation achieve its goals. A strong business analysis function is key to the delivery of the right solutions for the organisation.
Key relationships
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, at Directorate, service and application level. These will include colleagues at all levels, from boardroom to shop floor .
- Build productive relationships with a range of suppliers, partners, vendors and subject matter experts
- Build effective relationships with key Transformation stakeholders, and your team, particularly Product Managers, User Researchers and Service Designers.
- Build up supportive relationships with other members of the Business Analysis profession
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to identify and implement solutions to complex business problems, successfully identifying and then translating business needs to digital and non-digital solutions.
- Develop and articulate a detailed understanding of the business processes, working with process owners to identify and implement opportunities for incremental and stepchange process improvement.
- Identify emerging business needs and investigate possible solutions.
- Work as an agile business analyst in multi-disciplinary teams, supporting the team and Product Manager with developing and managing a product backlog.
- Facilitate both agile ceremonies and business workshops.
- Production of business analysis artefacts (for example: business cases, user stories, feasibility studies or insight from data) to agreed standards and quality levels.
- Manage key customer relationships, building a strong understanding of their current and emerging requirements.
- Coach and mentor team members and others within the wider business analysis community of practice, both developing and implementing business analysis best practice.
- Review and continuously improve Transformation working practices and standards where appropriate.
Key skills, knowledge and experience
1. Considerable experience in business analysis, working both within a multi-disciplinary agile team and alone.
2. Experience of leading analysis throughout the product lifecycle from discovery to live.
3. Experience of working with the user centred design profession and their methods and techniques.
4. Experience of Agile development methodologies
5. Experience of working with others to develop and maintain a backlog of user stories and acceptance criteria
6. Knowledge of the GDS development approach / digital standards.
7. Awareness of public sector Information Security issues.
8. Awareness of public sector (DEL) finances.
9. Finance (especially development finance) and / or land & property industry experience useful.
