Our client is a trusted UK Ministry of Defence partner seeking a highly skilled C/C++ Software Engineer. This individual will work as part of a team that integrates authentic products, models, and synthetic environments. In addition, the engineer will offer visualisations, demonstrations, verification & validation, training capability and support in an FT work frame onsite. This position provides an opportunity for contract extension or permanent employment.
WSSE is a critical player in developing weapon systems and system architectures. The C/C++ Software Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to the full product life cycle, which is a capability that WSSE has successfully developed and implemented.
What we're looking for:
- Previous software engineering experience in developing test solutions, including knowledge and experience of NI TestStand.
- Strong ability to write software in C/C++, with experience in C# and scripting languages being advantageous.
- Proactive and able to take ownership of software development.
- Excellent communication skills and strong motivation for collaboration.
- Previous experience working in an agile development team.
- Strong understanding of creating high-quality software and supporting quality practices.
- Knowledge of electronics measurement and debug techniques, using equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Understanding of communications and serial interfaces like RS422, RS485, Modbus, CAN, and 1553.

- Designing and developing Test Equipment software to test world-leading complex missile systems and sub-components.
- Working with a wide range of teams and stakeholders across MBDA to deliver test software capability of products from early concept to production.
- Exploring and experimenting with new implementations and technologies to meet the ever-challenging customer requirements
- Challenging and implementing real change when opportunities arise in the way the software is developed both within test software and the broader software community

- Working in a Software Engineering office/lab environment, engaging with test equipment and electronic circuitry.
