Cyber Security Consultant

Job Description: The Cyber Security Analyst role focuses on enhancing the security posture of a water provider by delivering a cyber improvement programme and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. The position requires hands-on experience in cyber security, particularly in implementing standards such as CAF and ISO27001. The role involves monitoring security systems, managing risks, and developing internal policies. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver cyber security improvement programmes
• Ensure compliance with relevant cyber security standards and frameworks (CAF/eCAF, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus)
• Monitor and manage security systems to detect and respond to potential threats
• Identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities
• Analyse security logs and reports to detect anomalies or incidents
• Support security audits and assessments
• Develop and maintain internal cyber security policies and procedures
• Provide regular reporting on incidents, risks, and compliance status

Skills Required:

• 3-5 years of experience in cyber security roles
• Hands-on involvement in implementing frameworks like NIST, eCAF, or ISO27001
• Experience in SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence, and IAM tools
• Background in supporting enterprise-level security initiatives aligned with regulatory or certification standards
