Job Description: The Data Privacy and Security Manager will serve as a subject matter expert within the Data Privacy Advisory team, focusing on the assessment of complex Product Engineering projects that handle personal data in compliance with EU and UK Data Protection Legislation. This role involves advising engineering teams on privacy requirements, identifying high-risk processing, and ensuring adherence to data protection laws. The position is contract-based, located in Warwickshire, and classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an SME within the Data Privacy Advisory team to support assessment of Product Engineering projects.
- Advise Engineering colleagues on legislative privacy requirements and compliance.
- Identify and articulate high-risk processing, complex data flows, and third-party data handling.
- Ensure adherence to data subject rights and security controls.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a dedicated Privacy professional.
- Experience advising on technical processes in Automotive, Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, or Software Development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Information and Security Management, EDPB Guidelines, ePrivacy, and PECR.
- Proven ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills.
- CIPP/E qualification, Law degree, or qualified lawyer.

The role will advise Engineering colleagues on Legislative focussed Privacy requirements that their project must comply by identifying and articulating: : high risk processing, complex data flows, the role of third parties handling data, international data transfers, industry specific guidelines, data minimisation techniques, data subject rights adherence, security controls
Skills :
- Minimum 5 years proven experience working as a dedicated Privacy professional.
- Previous experience advising on technical/ technology based processes e.g. Automotive, Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, Software Development.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The ability to communicate complex legal arguments to Engineering colleagues.
