The programme has recently produced the first version of its Programme Business Case, that outlines the case for the Matrix programme.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious Financial Accountant to assist in the development of our next iteration of the Business Case.

The role requires experience in cloud-based accounting given the nature of the programme.

They will be expected to review commercial contracts and other documentation to determine the correct accounting treatment, whilst seeking agreement from both the Matrix cluster departments and the NAO.

They will need to support where required on the production of the business case.

This can include:

• Working on the assumptions work which provides the foundation of the finance and economic model.

• Providing support to a member of staff regarding liaising with personal across the Matrix cluster to gather the right financial data and narrative.

• Providing insight regarding the forward look and requirements of the programme from a finance perspective

• Supporting on the production of AO advice and assessments

• Ensuring consistency between monthly reporting and the business case

• Leading on the financial aspects of internal decision-making documents

• Ensuring close working relations with the economist team

As a Financial Accountant - (Inside IR35) you will have the following: 

Essential:

• Must be a fully qualified Financial Accountant
• Experience in cloud-based accounting
• Experience of and able to contribute to business cases
• Experience of reviewing contracts
• Experience of Balance sheets / income statements
• Experience of VAT assessments
• Stakeholder management experience

Desirable:

• Public Sector experience
• Experienced in using Excel
• Liaise with NAO and financial accounting teams
• Digital Commercial transformation experience
• Experience of digital transformation programmes
