For a large services company focusing on water, waste, and energy management, we are recruiting an interim Management Accountant for 3 months. Starting immediately, this role will prepare management accounts, and provide support for a range of departments for annual budgeting and forecasting. This role will also undertake various site visits to liaise directly with Operations Teams to help them understand financial reporting and financial management.

Main Duties:

• Production of monthly management accounts delivered to tight deadlines together with sound analysis and investigation of results and variances for a number of operational units
• Regular site visits and interaction with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and support to business development is achieved
• Provide support to business operations in preparation for annual budgets and forecasts
• Carry out completion of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Interaction with key sales staff to analyse commercial tenders in terms of profitability
• Carry our analysis of asset register and preparation of any business cases
• Provide support to annual audit process
• Carry out any ad-hoc project work as is necessary to support the business objectives

Person Specification:

• Experience working with PFI, Local Government, or other complex public sector contracts and projects
• Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis experience
• Oracle or SAP ERP systems and excellent Excel
• Role is based in Pitsea / Basildon Essex - hybrid working in the office as well as home-working.
