Job Description: The role of Java Software Engineer involves delivering Premium AIS for a leading consultancy on a contract basis. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing user stories, writing code, and managing the technical delivery of software engineering teams. Key tasks include full end-to-end testing, integration into new systems, and leading deployment efforts. The position requires expertise in Java, Microservices, and various deployment tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse user stories and accept them for development
  • Write code and build new system requirements, including new endpoints
  • Integrate into new systems
  • Test incrementally in line with test strategy
  • Conduct full end-to-end testing of MVP
  • Lead end-to-end deployment as release train manager
  • Manage the technical delivery of one or more software engineering teams
  • Design, produce, test, and implement working software across the system lifecycle
  • Liaise with Principal Engineers and architects to understand platform functionality
  • Work with cross-domain teams to plan, design, develop, and maintain automation testing
  • Evolve predictive and intelligent testing approaches based on automation

About the Company

My client is seeking a Java Software Engineer on a contract basis in order to deliver Premium AIS in 2025. They are a leading Consultancy and the role is based on site at one of their banking clients

Responsibilities

  • Analyse user stories, and accept them for development
  • Write code
  • Build new system requirements, including new end points (tink/Mimo/Payit)
  • Integration into new systems (ie Mimo)
  • Test incrementally, in line with test strategy
  • Full E2E testing of MVP
  • Full E2E testing as part of deployment, in collaboration with business partners
  • Own and lead E2E deployment (release train manager)
  • Manage the technical delivery of one or more software engineering teams
  • Lead the planning, specifying, developing and deploying of high performance, robust and resilient systems
  • Designs, produces, tests and implements working software, working across the lifecycle of the system
  • Liaises with Principal Engineers, architects in the domain and other key stakeholders to understand how the Platform works and how it supports business objectives
  • Works with colleagues at multiple levels, cross-Domain, Domain, Platform and Feature teams, understanding and analysing testing requirements, including functional requirements, to plan, design, develop & maintain (where necessary) the work required to perform and monitor automation testing, building in quality as an integral part of all activities
  • Evolve more predictive and intelligent testing approaches based on automation and innovative testing products and solutions
