PMO LEAD - LONDON - 6 MONTH CONTRACT - 386/DAY UMBRELLA (INSIDE IR35)
ARM are working with an international construction and property consultancy in order to find a Project Controls Manager / PMO Lead to join them in the London Head Office. This role will suit someone with experience in the rail sector (ideally signalling), with a background in PMO / Project Controls.
About You:
- Extensive experience in PMO functions working within Projects, Programmes & Portfolios environment.
- Demonstrable experience within the rail sector, ideally re-signalling or signalling enhancement.
- Experienced in setting up and/or managing a PMO function for complex programmes.
- Client engagement and relationship management experience.
- Experience working within Agile and Waterfall-based programme/project delivery.
- Experience in using relevant Project Management/Project Dashboard Reporting tools and software such as MS Project, JIRA, PowerBI, SmartSheet etc.
- Cost Management experience highly desirable.
- Clear communicator with effective negotiation, networking and presentation skills.
- Strong organisation skills, planning and proactive time management skills.
- Relevant certifications are desired but not mandatory e.g. Prince2, APM, RICS, or equivalent qualifications.
- A relevant degree would also be beneficial but is not mandatory e.g. Project Management; Quantity Surveying; Engineering; Construction or Business Administration.
What you will be doing:
Working with the director to develop & implement a market-leading PMO service. You will also develop a trusted partnership with your clients, and work closely with each client to understand their project control needs and develop a tailored service offering. This could include:
- Define and deliver reporting metrics to provide transparency on programme progress, risks and opportunities.
- Define and oversee programme governance and smooth running of key governance forums, including secretarial duties as required (agenda setting, minute taking etc).
- Make recommendations on necessary programme investments by the client such as additional resourcing or new software.
- Collaborate with client project managers and become familiar with project details to provide robust advice to the client on programme status and risks.
- Ensure best practices are followed by Project Managers and provide mentoring as required.
- Ensure a robust project close-out process is conducted and facilitate lessons learnt workshops.
This is a full-time contract role, based in London on a hybrid basis with an initial 6-month duration. The role is paying 425/day Umbrella (Inside IR35).
