We are looking for a Project Manager for an initial 4 month contract. This role is a hybrid role with travel to Milton Keynes required 2 days a week.

Essential

  • 5+ / 10+ years Project Management experience in similar Digital/IT project delivery
  • Proven project management and leadership skills, and a good knowledge of business analysis.
  • Has strong planning, communication and presentation skills, and is proficient in project quality management
  • Extensive understanding of the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of Digital/IT projects from initiation through to implementation
  • Extensive understanding of the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the preparation and monitoring of budgets to minimise costs and ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Extensive understanding of the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of a programme of projects and related activities through to the successful achievement of planned business benefits
  • Experience in effective and efficient deployment of resources, including reassessment and reallocation in a dynamic multi-project environment, to achieve optimum results
  • Able to identify, assess and manage project risks, which could result in time or cost over-runs, or failure to deliver products which are fit for purpose
  • System and Solution lifecycle delivery
  • Exposure and experience of various development and delivery methods (Agile/Waterfall/Scrum/Kanban etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Management and mapping of requirements and opportunities to outputs
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ/APMP or similar)
  • PRINCE 2 Agile Practitioner/Change Management Practitioner Qualification

Desirable Experience:

  • Rail sector experience. If not rail, utilities or other transport sector experience.
  • Agile project management experience
