The company area leading construction and infrastructure services provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. We are currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Southampton for a 12-month contract on a highways Section 278 project.

Job Description:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our Section 278 project in Southampton. This project involves the construction and maintenance of highway works and infrastructure, and your expertise in quantity surveying will be essential to ensure its success. This is a contract position, and it falls outside IR35 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
• Provide commercial and financial support to the project team.
• Administer contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with NEC standards.
• Assess and negotiate variations, claims, and settlements.
• Monitor and report on project cost and financial performance.
• Collaborate with the project management team to deliver the project within budget and on schedule.
• Manage subcontracts and supplier agreements.
• Assist in risk management and cost control.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in highway construction projects.
• Strong familiarity with NEC (New Engineering Contract) standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ideally, you should have relevant qualifications in quantity surveying or a related field.
