Birmigham City Council are currently recruiting 2 experienced Best Interest Assessors to work in Birmingham.
Your new role
As a Best Interest Assessor, you will be responsible for assessments and provide a high quality and effective service relating to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards process whilst responding to the Service User needs in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines, Directorate policies, standards and guidelines.
You will be required to complete three assessments per week, working to the Government's guidance.
Protect the rights and promote the interests of service users and carers and promote the independence of service users while protecting them as far as possible from danger or harm.
Respect the rights of service users whilst seeking to ensure that their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people.
Strive to establish and maintain the trust and confidence of service users and carers
Uphold public trust and confidence in social care services
Be accountable for the quality of your work and take responsibility for maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills.
What you\'ll need to succeed
Degree or equivalent Social Work Qualification and BIA qualification
Social Work England registration
Up-to-date BIA refresher training
You must be able to travel to the area to make visits as assessments are being carried out remotely and face to face visits to be undertaken where necessary, e.g. to meet the person's communication needs.
3 months rolling contract
35 hours per week
Eligible to work in the UK
Hold a full UK drivers\' licence- preferred
Post-qualified experience
