We are working closely with a leading investment firm in London, and we're seeking an accomplished Cloud Infrastructure Architect to play a pivotal role within our Carbon Financing division. This role involves spearheading the design and execution of a resilient, scalable, and secure cloud-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of cloud computing technologies, business imperatives, and emerging computational trends, with a demonstrated history of developing financial services solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement secure, scalable, and effective cloud-based infrastructure for our carbon financing solutions.
• Utilize Oracle proficiency to administer databases, ensuring performance, availability, and security, including devising, managing, and validating backup and recovery plans.
• Collaborate closely with the development team to understand application requirements and formulate infrastructure aligned with these needs.
• Leverage React and Angular to construct user-friendly interfaces for our cloud-based solutions, creating new features, reusable components, and translating designs into high-calibre code.
• Apply PostgreSQL expertise to oversee databases, ensuring performance, security, and availability, and developing, overseeing, and validating backup and recovery plans.
• Ensure infrastructure adheres to industry standards and best practices.
• Monitor and manage the performance of the cloud infrastructure, promptly identifying and resolving issues.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for managing cloud infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Bootstrap, Django, Python, HTML, PHP, SQL, showcasing UI design, web application development, and database management experience.
• Familiarity with Hibernate, Java, MySQL, including hands-on experience with Hibernate for Java, Java application development, and MySQL database administration.
• Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), encompassing the management and deployment of applications and services on the platform.
• Competence in Oracle, React, TypeScript, Angular, with demonstrated experience managing Oracle databases, creating user interfaces with React and Angular, and coding with TypeScript.
• Sound understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, with familiarity in securing cloud-based applications and data.
• Ability to conduct technology evaluations and make effective recommendations.
• Passionate about environmental sustainability, understanding climate-related disclosure, greenhouse gas reporting, and carbon tax reporting processes.

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture, with a focus on AWS.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
