Description
The main responsibilities for the Colleague Relations Advisor are:
- Provide expert advice remotely on a diverse range of cases, including disciplinary, grievance, appeal, and investigation meetings, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Coach and influence line managers to navigate ER cases, ensuring optimal outcomes.
Case Management:
- Assist in the management of Employment Tribunal (ET) claims, meticulously collating and preparing documents.
- Support employee consultation, redeployment, and termination of employment through TUPE and redundancy exercises.
Policy Evolution:
- Contribute to the review and amendment of employment policies, aligning them with the latest changes in employment legislation and ACAS codes of Practice.
Risk Mitigation:
- Escalate high-risk and high-profile cases to line managers, collaborating with operations colleagues to ensure the availability of appropriate resources.
Administrative Precision:
- Ensure all information sent to the Colleague Relations admin team is accurate and timely.
- Attend hearings and meetings by exception as the management representative, providing advice and taking meticulous notes.
Capability Enhancement:
- Participate in the provision of formal training to Operational colleagues, enhancing their capability in managing ER cases, conducting investigations, formal hearings, decision-making, and note-taking.
Reporting and Strategy:
- Provide ER activity reports, offering insights into case types, numbers, and outcomes. Make recommendations to elevate Southern Co-op's approach to managing all ER cases.
Profile
The successful candidate for the Colleague Relations Advisor will need to have the following:
- CIPD qualification (or studying) advantageous.
- Confident management of a high volume and complex workload.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient coaching and influencing skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective planning and prioritisation skills.
- Collaborative team player with a passion for achieving collective success.
