Job Title: Data Engineer - AWS - Spark - Java Spring - Outisde IR35

Salary/Rate: Between £550/day and £750/day

Job Type: 6 Month Contract - will be extended


We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading banking clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join their team for a six-month contract.

Background Information

3 networks on the mainframe will be combined into 1 in AWS. The networks are:

Discover network for domestic credit cards
Pulse network for domestic debit cards
Club for global customers

The Settlement Platform is the core of the new network.
The approach is the Strangler Pattern, which is incremental migration from the classic (legacy) mainframe to AWS cloud.
Pricing is the heart of the payment system where all calculations are performed. It's now moved to a microservice event streaming model and running in parallel.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Spark
2. Java Spring
3. AWS

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Finance experience
2. Scala
3. Terraform
