Job Description: The Data Modeller role requires a technically skilled individual proficient in Artefact, Diagrams, ERD Design, and Documentation Writing. The position is fully remote and offers a daily rate of £450-£500, classified as outside IR35. The ideal candidate will support data clarity and institutional transitions within a Higher Education context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defined work packages aligned to a specific scope, supporting data clarity, readiness, and artefact alignment required for successful statutory submissions and institutional transition into the Digital and Data Strategy.
- Develop Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) to document the structure and relationships of key student data entities in the live SRS environment.
- Extract and document field-level metadata with traceability and naming conventions.
- Align technical artefacts (eg definitions, mappings) to the agreed SRS data model.
- Support iterative delivery of critical data changes tied to statutory and life cycle milestones.
- Embed quality assurance practices and support documentation required for institutional handover.
Skills Required:
- Extensive skills in Artefact, Diagrams, ERD Design, Data Workstreams & Documentation Writing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with SITS SRS, POWER BI, or Oracle (bonus but not essential).

Typical duties/responsibilities for the ideal Data Modeller as follows:
- Defined work packages aligned to a specific scope, supporting data clarity, readiness, and artefact alignment required for successful statutory submissions and institutional transition into the Digital and Data Strategy.
The Data Modeller will deliver the following services on a defined-output basis over a three-day-per-week schedule:
