DevOps engineer needed for a growing innovative software company in the early stages of growth.

The DevOps engineer will be skilled with GCP and Terraform and your main focus will be setting up the Infrastructure.

This is a contract DevOps Engineer role with great remote working opportunity and is a short contract for around 1 month.

The role:

Cloud infrastructure set-up:

- Use Terraform for provisioning and configuring GCP infrastructure across multiple environments.

This includes:

- Establishing IAM users and permissions to ensure secure access management.

- Implementing a shared VPC architecture with a Cloud SQL database featuring a private IP.

- Setting up Cloud Run services for secure communication with Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, and other services. Some services are public APIs while others remain private.

- Configuring a bastion host with comprehensive access to resources within the VPC.

- Configuring load balancers for optimized traffic distribution.

Network and Security:

- Deploy firewall rules to enforce security policies.

- Ensure all networking and security elements adhere to audit requirements.

- Implement essential security measures to protect APIs, databases, and other components.

Domain Setup:

- Set up the company's purchased domain to ensure proper functionality, securely and efficiently mapping it to the GCP infrastructure.

Monitoring, Alerting, and Scaling Plan (Optional):

- Create a thorough plan for monitoring infrastructure health and performance.

- Integrate alerting mechanisms to promptly address potential issues.

- Develop scaling strategies to efficiently manage fluctuating workloads.

Documentation:

- Thoroughly document all configurations, setups, and processes to facilitate seamless knowledge transfer.

- Ensure documentation is clear, well-organized, and easily understandable for future reference.

Other requirements:

- Take ownership of the entire infrastructure setup, ensuring it aligns with the company's goals.

- Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

- Work within the constraints of a startup environment, delivering results promptly.

- Prioritize workload to meet tight timelines and deliver tangible results.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on GCP.

Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.

In-depth knowledge of IAM, VPCs, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, and related GCP services.

Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.

Experience with setting up public APIs and domain configurations.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
