We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join the Duty and Advice Team for Leicester city Council.

We have 3 vacancies for Duty and Advice - this is the team that takes all the referrals and call for the city children - they work along side Early Help who are co located - the work is on a shift basis to covering 24/7. They must have experience of referral taking.

It will consist of visits and travelling out hours and we want to make that very clear as we do section 47s out of hours and visits and place children in an emergency therefore they will need to travel.

We do not operate like a MASH team. We want candidates to know what is expected in our front door service

We are a 24 hour service and specifically looking for someone who can work a rota that consist of the following shift pattern (4 days on / 3 days off)

Mon - Fri

10am - 8pm

3pm - 11pm

11pm - 8:30pm

Weekend

9am - 7pm

12pm -11pm

9pm - 9am

Workers work the weekend 1 in every 3 weeks. Child Protection experience needed, information on legislation MUST be known and understood. Remote working from home but must be able to travel for emergency visits.

Essential Requirements

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
• At least 2 years experience as a social worker within childrens services
• Social Work England Registration
• Driving license and access to own vehicle
