E-Learning Content Designer Inside IR35

Contract Term: 2 months with potential for extension

Contracting Authority: Homes England

Location: Remote

Homes England, the government s housing and regeneration agency, plays a central role in tackling the housing challenges the country now faces. We have the appetite, influence, expertise, and resource to drive positive market change, and our mission is to ensure more homes are built in areas of greatest need, improve affordability and create a sustainable housing market.

The Finance Team is responsible for reporting across a wide variety of activities and need to ensure that colleagues across the organisation understand how the data they collect for projects is used to support financial oversight, cross-agency decision making and statutory reporting to our sponsor Department, HM Treasury and ultimately, Parliament.

Supporting this, we need to deliver a small number of interactive development resources to be hosted on the Agency s learning management system so that colleagues can access them, and their completion (including results of a short multiple-choice test) can be recorded. This allows us to confirm that colleagues understand their responsibilities and helps provide assurance over the data they are curating .

You will be responsible for creating the online content using either your own e-learning software (which must produce SCORM-compliant outputs) or the Workwize platform. If you haven t used this before it is fairly simple to pick up and allows the creation of pop-up info (on clicks), transitions, mini quizzes, etc. to build engaging development content. The content will be based on existing development materials (mainly PowerPoint slides some may be provided as a storyboard to follow, but you will be free to suggest better ways to present the information) and discussion with key stakeholders.

As an E-Learning Content Designer your main responsibilities will be to:

Contribute to business-critical communications with delivery teams.

Strive to maintain positive working relationships across the team.

Maintain a flexible approach to delivering the products to a defined timeframe.

Providing specialist advice and knowledge to colleagues to support organisational objectives.

Plan, design and develop impactful development products which satisfy identified learning outcomes.

Create interactive e-learning modules from storyboards.

Prioritise effectively and work on multiple project deliverables with tight deadlines.

Develop content to meet the needs of users including those with disabilities.

Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

Take responsibility for the protection of data in line with policies and procedures.

Essential:

  • Experience of designing blended, immersive and digital learning solutions, e.g. on-demand, interactive multimedia, video, audio, and mobile learning.

  • Experience of picking up new tools to develop resources (knowledge of Workwize would be useful but is not essential).

  • Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design methodologies.

  • Sound understanding of copyright, data protection and other legal issues associated with publishing.

  • Knowledge of accessibility and compliance with WCAG 2.1.
