Financial Advisor to the Board
Yolk Recruitment is the exclusive recruitment partner for the Centre for Digital Public Services (CDPS) and is supporting them to recruit a qualified Financial Advisor to attend quarterly virtual meetings, provide strategic financial advice to the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC), ensure compliance with regulations, and liaise with CDPS Executives on providers and value for money, while staying informed on industry trends and adhering to Managing Welsh Public Money requirements.
CDPS supports the public sector in Wales to design and build better public services, which meet the needs of those who use them. They are funded by the Welsh Government and are supporting them to meet the outcomes in the Digital Strategy for Wales. What you will be doing as a Financial Advisor to the Board:
- Provide strategic advice to ARC across a variety of financial areas including:
- Attendance at quarterly ARC meetings
- Quarterly management accounts
- Annual statutory accounts and reporting
- Debt management
- Cash management
- Insurance coverage
- Audit and risk management
- Liaise with the CDPS Executive regarding providers and value for money.
- Understand new trends and to provide evidence-based financial advice.
Requirements:
- You will be ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, understanding of public financial management.
- You must be independent of CDPS and independent of Welsh Government
- Experience in providing strategic financial advice, managing accounts and reporting, debt and cash management, insurance coverage, and familiarity with audit and risk is important.
Reward
The successful applicant will receive up to 600 a day (outside IR35).
