Job Description: The role of Freelance Senior Frontend Engineer at Elsewhen involves translating visual designs into high-fidelity app components while ensuring a seamless customer experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Translate visual designs into app components with extremely high fidelity.
- Deliver scalable, testable, maintainable, and high-quality code.
- Share knowledge, evangelise standard methodologies, and collaborate with others.
- Configure the front end's continuous integration and code-quality tools (GitHub Actions, GCP).
- Assume responsibility for the technical design and implementation of solutions to complex features.
- Collaborate with the backend team to design APIs (OpenAPI) to support front-end requirements.
- Review other team members' codes and provide feedback, assist junior developers in coding and debugging.
- Partner with product and design teams to deliver a cohesive user experience.
- Drive initiatives forward and influence skills to promote ideas and plans.
- Work in an environment that supports individual growth through exciting work and training opportunities.
Skills Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant role, preferably in an Agile development environment.
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiar with the latest trends and toolings (State management, React Query, Vite, Styled Component, etc.).
- Familiarity with MonoRepo ecosystem and MicroFrontend.
- Experience collaborating with multi-functional partners to build responsive, intuitive applications.
- Passionate about code quality, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
- Familiar with component-based ecosystems (design systems, Storybook, Figma).
- Proficient with modern testing frameworks (e.g., vitest/cypress/playwright).
- In-depth understanding of front-end architecture and performance optimization.
- Experienced with git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines (like GitHub Actions) and containers.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in conveying ideas to non-technologically proficient individuals.
