Job Title: IT Systems and Business Process Trainer
Location: Thames Valley Police (Regular travel required to various locations within the force)
Pay: 19.16 per hour
Overall Purpose of the Role: The IT Systems and Business Process Trainer provides a Forcewide specialist capability that facilitates the design and delivery of IT Systems and Business Process Training to a diverse audience including Police Staff, Student Officers, Special Constables, PCSOs, and established Officers and staff.
Key Accountability Areas:
- Deliver IT Systems and Business Process Training:
- Provide Information and Communications Technology, Systems, and Business Process (IT S & BP) training.
- Ensure valid and reliable assessment standards are applied during tutorials, tests, and exams.
- Promote equality and fairness, challenging inappropriate behaviour.
- Design and Implement Training Courses:
- Liaise with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers to design, implement, and maintain training courses to recognised Force-Wide and nationally approved quality standards.
- Ensure business needs are met through collaboration with CM, external IT providers, other forces, ICT, and other key departments.
- Provide Direction/Support and Identify Issues:
- Offer direction/support as a Force expert in relevant curriculum areas.
- Identify system and business process issues during development and 'business as usual' phases.
- Course Reporting and Assessment:
- Prepare concise course reports and assessments of students.
- Provide structured feedback and development plans for students.
- Recommend and implement approved action plans when necessary.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Welfare requirements during training.
- Work with electrical equipment and DSE requirements.
Dimensions:
- Regular travel to venues to work remotely from the base location.
- Deliver training sessions with varying numbers of students (typically 8 per session for IT courses).
- Fully trained trainers deliver approximately 150 x 8-hour classroom days per year.
- Course lengths range from half-day to 25 days.
Characteristics of the Role:
- Significant expertise in identifying and articulating IT system faults and business process issues.
- Flexible approach to working hours and travel.
- Proven working knowledge of IT systems and associated business processes.
- Strong planning and workload management skills.
- Aptitude to use and learn a wide range of IT systems.
- Understanding of Data Protection and Information Security Legislation.
Qualifications needed
- Experienced applicants: Level 3 certificate in L&D (or equivalent) and/or experience in facilitating L&D.
- Applicants without prior experience or qualifications: Commitment to achieving competency through completion of the L&D qualifications.
