QA Engineer

Outside IR35 Remote work with occasional site visits

Our client in the banking industry requires a contract QA Engineer to help with an increase in workload in the next 3 months+. This role requires an individual with proven banking experience, ideally within the payments area. The role can operate remotely but occasional site visits may be required so the QA Engineer will need to be prepared to travel to the midlands of their own accord. 

Role responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and specifications.


• Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements.


• Execute manual and automated test scripts to identify software defects and report them


• Conduct thorough analysis of test results and provide detailed reports to the development team.


• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practises.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve software defects and improve overall product quality.


• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies.

Skills required:

• Proven experience working as a QA Engineer or in a similar role within the IT and Internet industry.


• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.


• Experience in testing banking and payments software applications.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
