Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid Working - 2 days per week in the office)

Harvey Nash s leading financial institution client based in Edinburgh, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investment Risk Consultant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting interim contract role within their senior Investment Risk team, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to the risk management strategies of one of the industry's key players.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive transaction risk analysis and offer objective, independent risk reviews of equity, credit risks, and other investment-relevant risks in proposed investment deals.
  • Conduct risk monitoring and assessments of investments in the Bank's portfolio, ensuring alignment with established risk tolerance levels.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Investment Team, contributing insights and perspectives from a Second Line of Defence risk standpoint in the preparation of Investment Committee submissions.
  • Conduct macro, sector, early warning signals, and thematic reviews for key investment areas, staying ahead of emerging risks.
  • Actively contribute to the enhancement of risk models, credit risk rating, equity valuation models, and related processes.
  • Assist the Head of Investment Risk in developing investment risk policies and frameworks, focusing on equity and credit risk, and ensure effective implementation and ongoing monitoring.

Key Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • A seasoned professional with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in credit, market, or investment risk within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in transaction risk analysis, credit, and market risk analysis of unlisted companies and private market investments.
  • Strong experience in private credit/lending, venture capital, private equity, and private markets is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within a collaborative team environment, providing leadership in risk management strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adept at contributing to the development and implementation of risk policies and frameworks.
