About the Project:

The Lab L project is required to retrieve and export a significant number of existing
Special Nuclear Material packages that have been inspected and deemed requiring
overpacking layers before exporting to another facility store. The multi-disciplined
project will design the plant and equipment that: -

Retrieves the package (using modified current plant assets where practicable).
Manages the risk of loss of nuclear containment whilst handling and repackaging the
SNM packages.
Adds additional package layers suitable for export to the existing storage facility.
Provides a layout that supports retrievals and export within Lab L and interfacing plant
and equipment.

The multidiscipline team will be required to produce the strip out methodologies and
resultant plant layout for the reconfiguration of Lab L required to deliver the project
mission.

About the Role:

A senior designer is required to deliver mechanical work scope, production and checking,
reporting to a Senior / Principal Engineer.
They will need to produce design proposal
drawings and detail drawings using Inventor / AutoCAD software (including familiarity
with Inventor Vault), including GA s, manufacturing details, building layouts, Mechanical
Handling Sequence Drawings , Mechanical Flow Diagrams and parts lists.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear
industry.
Experience using Inventor / AutoCAD.
Experience of Design for Assembly within a nuclear facility.
The candidate will need to manage their own workload and drive completion of the
work scope.
The candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with team members
and with the Client.
