Execute and lead process engineering design activities, following the clients standards and procedures to schedule and budget as advised by the Project Manager, to deliver the capital programme for our Teesside businesses and improve operational efficiency.

Develop and take responsibility for the accuracy of detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets and drawings.

Develop process engineering designs, including pressure relief systems, heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&ID development and process safety design.

Check & approve process engineering calculations.

Lead process hazard assessments and other technical risk assessments (including Hazard Studies, LoPA & Area Classification).

Collaborate with & give quality technical advice to internal customers such as our R&D teams.

Provide process engineering support for pilot plants, bespoke process development equipment and site infrastructure (including gas storage & distribution systems, steam systems, and a compressor house).

Provide process engineering and risk management advice to the Teesside sites and the wider Johnson Matthey business.

Provide technical input as part of the Emergency Response Team in the event of a Major Incident.

Provide awareness training & validation for the wider technical community.

Skills and experience required-

Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience

Chartered Engineer status

Demonstrable experience in a Process Engineering role

Demonstrable experience of Process Engineering at the pilot scale
