Senior Process Engineer - £70 per hour inside ir35 - 12 months (extension likely) London or Middlesbrough - Hybrid (3 days a week onsite) - 1 stage virtual interview - Sector: Chemical
Yolk recruitment are search for a senior process engineer to work to work with a global leader in chemical manufacturing.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that is leading the way in new practises and green technology.
You will be providing process engineering expertise in order to develop industry leading technology and catalysts; support proposal and basic engineering activities for our licensed technologies, eg methanol, LP Oxo, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out process engineering design activities, following comany standards and procedures to schedule and budget as advised by the Lead Engineer / Technology Manager / Project Manager
- Develop and take responsibility for the accuracy of detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets, specifications and drawings to specify the process engineering requirements of our technologies
- Develop Basic Engineering Packages, including preparation/checking of heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&ID development, hydraulic and process safety design.
Key Skills / Experience:
- Simulate and prepare process flow diagram, heat and mass balance.
- Develop the material flow diagram with design conditions.
- Carry out the process calculations and prepare process specifications for various unit operations such as vessels, compressors, reactors, columns, heat exchanger.
- Carry out the hydraulic calculations and prepare process specification for pumps, control valves and other instruments.
- Carry out the relief flow calculation and prepare process specification for relief devices.
- Carry out the SIL/LOPA calculations for complex control loops, prepare cause and effect diagram.
- Prepare flare load summary, effluent summary, Utility summary, production, and consumption summary.
Desirable Background Experience:
Experience in producing/developing engineering (basic/feed) packages for:
- Petrochemical process
- Refinery process
- Gas processing
Experience within a large multinational EPC environment company
