Senior Process Engineer - Contract - Wales

Location: West Wales

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Refining, Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries. Strong experience in refinery projects is essential.

This role is deemed outside IR35.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop the scope of work / basis of design for studies and projects.


• Undertake and checking of process calculations.


• Preparation and checking of process deliverables PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, process descriptions, philosophies and narratives.


• Supporting the project during FEED and detailed design stages.


• Perform safety related calculations and provide input to safety reviews What If, Hazop SIL Assessment, etc.


• Utilise process simulation software as required for the development of process deliverables.


• Attend in-house and site-based meetings / reviews with clients.


• Undertake short and long-term business travel in support of studies, projects and consultancy.

Key Skills & Knowledge

• Degree in Chemical Engineering essential, chartered status desired but not essential.


• Strong experience in refinery projects is essential.


• Previously worked on design projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy industries.


• Previous site experience in conjunction with a design background beneficial.
