A Senior Test engineer is an expert in testing and quality, and ensures these practices are Embedded in the development of software changes from design to release. Through collaboration with the whole team, they aim to deliver an exceptional customer experience of both new and existing products at the first attempt. They test the product, coach the team in best test practice, coach and mentor test engineers across different product groups, and drive the implementation of effective test automation. The senior test engineer will identify and drive improvements to engineering practices and ways of working. A Senior Test engineer is the go-to person for major and complex work projects, contributes to implementing strategic test engineering initiatives, and works with the team to prevent defects and rework of changes occurring. They champion the organisations customers, ensuring non-functional testing is planned and executed, and make sure the right features are delivered in the right way.

Key Responsibilities
- Is responsible to ensure that all features are designed and implemented in a testable way by guiding product teams during the entire life cycle and guide more junior members of the team in this topic.
- Is responsible to enable product teams to deliver quality products at pace by advocating for teams to verify and test work in isolated independent units and embed testing early in the life cycle and guide more junior members of the team in this topic.
- Is responsible to advocate for the users experience by raising the team's ability to build applications with clear non-functional requirements (eg performance, security, accessibility, usability)

- Is responsible to advocate for testing best practices by explaining why testing is required, and enables others to own testing and quality checks of the product and guide more junior members of the team in this topic.
- Is responsible to drive and coordinate collaborative improvements of the test automation infrastructure and processes in teams by outlining the pros and cons of automation, where it can be effective, and where it cannot be used
- Is responsible to increase the overall quality of tests for a product by building automated tests that are isolated, deterministic, valuable and provide fast, reliable feedback.
- Is responsible to systematically identify patterns and underlying issues in complex situations, and to find solutions by applying logical and analytical thinking
