We are recruiting a Software Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield.
You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of the Software Engineer:

Maintenance/performance improvement of existing internal tools, particularly those written in VBA.
Development of new tools and processes to aid design process based on engineer feedback.
Study design and data handling processes and identify areas improvement.
Project milestone to deadlines
Maintenance requests completed to reasonable timeframe
Support on BOM data queries

Qualifications & Experience for the Software Engineer

Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
Visual Basic / VBA development experience (required)
SQL database management (advantageous)
Any of Java, Python, HTML development (advantageous)
Manufacturing BOM management experience (advantageous)
Office 365 tools (including Excel to intermediate/advanced level)
Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques, and a strong mathematical understanding.
Have good written and verbal communication.
Ability to work well within a team environment and take responsibility for your deliveries.
Competent with PC applications. Including Microsoft Office apps.
Self-motivating and self-managing. Pro-active.
Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously

Monday to Friday
