Job Description: The Solution Architect role focuses on managing Global Partnerships for a well-known Insurance brand, requiring expertise in Oracle, Java, .Net, and Azure/GCP. The position involves bridging Enterprise Architecture and Delivery, ensuring effective communication of architectural visions and producing viable technical designs. The role is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days per week onsite in London, and is initially for a duration of 6 months. The position is classified as inside IR35, necessitating engagement through an umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the relationship between Enterprise Architecture and Delivery, facilitating communication in both directions.
- Communicate the vision for the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture roadmap to reach the target Architectural state.
- Produce solution options and Technical Designs for Projects, consulting with Scrums to ensure understanding and viability.
- Manage large Programmes of work across multiple Delivery teams.
- Track delivery timelines and interdependencies across multiple teams.
- Design high-quality and repeatable processes to minimize production issues.
- Deliver technical solutions in the insurance industry, focusing on Products, Claims, and Settlements.
- Manage Delivery Risks and Issues effectively.
- Automate CI/CD pipelines in ADO (Azure DevOps) and/or Jira across different technologies.
- Produce Enterprise standard Architecture documentation.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and emerging technology trends.
- Possess comprehensive Solution Architectural understanding across software and networking.
Skills Required:
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect in the Insurance industry.
- Demonstrable ability to produce Enterprise standard Architecture documentation.
- Varied technical competency across Oracle (PL/SQL), Java, .Net, and Azure/GCP.
- Knowledge of Data exchange and integration best practices for on-prem and cloud networks.
- Experience in managing large Programmes of work across multiple Delivery teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to own and manage Delivery Risks and Issues.
- Working knowledge of tracking delivery timelines and interdependencies.
- Experience in automation of CI/CD pipelines.
- Flexible approach towards hybrid working.

My client is an instantly recognisable and well-established Insurance brand, who are looking to hire a Solution Architect with experience of managing Global Partnerships, with technical expertise spanning Oracle (PL/SQL), Java, .Net and Azure / GCP.
This role will see you own the relationship between Enterprise Architecture and Delivery, communicating in both directions. You will need to communicate the vision for how the Enterprise Architecture roadmap will evolve to reach the target Architectural state as well as reduce technical debt, whilst producing solution options and Technical Designs for Projects, consulting with Scrums to ensure the Designs are understood and viable.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect with proven Insurance industry experience
- Demonstrable ability to produce Enterprise standard Architecture documentation
- Ability to design high quality and repeatable processes that result in low levels of production issues
- Awareness of industry best practice and new and upcoming technology trends
- Comprehensive Solution Architectural understanding across software and networking
- Experience of managing large Programmes of work across multiple Delivery teams
- Working knowledge of tracking delivery timelines and interdependencies across multiple teams
- Varied technical competency across Oracle (PL/SQL), Java, .Net and Azure / GCP
- Knowledge of Data exchange and integration best practices relating to traditional on-prem as well as cloud networks (Azure and / or GCP)
- Automation of CI/CD pipelines in ADO (Azure DevOps) and/or Jira across different technologies
- Proven experience of delivering technical solutions in the insurance industry with excellent knowledge in topics such as Products, Claims and Settlements
- Ability to own and manage Delivery Risks and Issues
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
