The duration of the contract is 9 months.

The pay rate on offer is 400 - 600 per day.

The location of the role is Paddington, London (hybrid working).

The client is a large, multinational high street retailer.

Role Summary

This exciting opportunity forms part of the wider Lowering Cost team. Lowering Costs focuses on delivering cash savings across the business and the supply base by removing complexity. The savings are used to re-invest in the business to drive further growth. During the end-to-end review of our suppliers, we believe there will be the opportunity to unlock multiple additional lowering cost opportunities. There is a requirement to pass this information on and where possible be responsible for the delivery of opportunities.

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal person must have excellent stakeholder management skills couple with the technical knowledge to do the job.

Key accountabilities of the role

Analysis leading to effective decision support to help protect our growth. You will:

  1. Gather growth rates from our categories (by using internal support)
  2. Bottom-up capacity at suppliers (and the wider supply chain where necessary)
  3. Where necessary link this to raw material supply chain (packaging & ingredients)
  4. Developing scorecards with technical and product development on our suppliers
  5. Create recommendations on actions (as part of a joint stakeholder framework)

Key skills and experience

Stakeholder Management

  • Must be able to communicate and engage effectively with all levels of a retail business
  • Strong ability to challenge and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to think creatively to solve problems and drive value
  • Tenacious and resilient self-starter
  • Able to manage demanding timescales and work with competing priorities

Food Manufacturing Experience

  • Process manufacturing and supply chain experience preferably in a value-added Food environment
  • LEAN manufacturing experience utilising tools such as 6 Sigma, TPM or other similar tools (less significant)
  • Fluent in capacity understanding and measuring
  • Experience of managing a Food manufacturing P&L (desirable)
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of sourcing and managing raw materials
