p>A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Trade Compliance Officer or a Trade Compliance Administrator to join the team with our prestigious client, this is a hybrid role at their site in Crawley.


Primary Purpose of Role of a Trade Complance or a Trade Compliance Adminstrator


We are currently recruiting for Trade Compliance Officers to join us. This is a great opportunity for an export and customs compliance professional with experience ideally within the defence, military or highly regulated industry. The key purpose of the role is to assist in the promotion of the trade compliance culture and the implementation of the UK Trade Compliance Programme in accordance with all-applicable laws & regulations and our Group Policy.


Key Responsibilities of a Trade Complance or a Trade Compliance Adminstrator


Assist & support the Head of Trade Compliance and the Senior Trade Compliance Manager (Customs) with the implementation of the Trade Compliance programme.
Manage import and export customs clearance instructions in line with all customs requirements.
Manage Post Entry & Post Exit along-side MSS data reconciliation.
Manage customs authorisations and renewals
Manage customs procedures life cycle: IP; OP; CW; TA.
Tariff codes assessment and classification.
Solid understanding of customs declarations (CHIEF & CDS).
Carnet applications approval and submission.
Support investigations and VD submission when required
Assist identifying gaps with best practices, policies and processes, to enhance our internal compliance programme
Identify compliance risks and provide guidance to programme/projects and business development teams
Identify any potential breach or violation in relation to any compliance issue, and provide support in the analysis and remedial actions plan of any such findings
Intrastat reporting.
Manage Record Keeping


Skills and experience required of a Trade Complance or a Trade Compliance Adminstrator


Solid knowledge and working experience of Trade Compliance & Customs regulations
Knowledge and working experience of identifying Trade Compliance & Customs risks and associated remedial measures.
Knowledge and working experience of identifying suspected incidents and breaches, carrying out investigation and reporting these to senior management.
A can do attitude.
Commercial awareness.
Good time management skills.


Recognising the restricted nature of the work  there is a requirement for the candidate to be eligible to obtain Security Clearance for this role.
