Transformation Programme Manager


Salary: 59,512 per annum

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Hybrid: Hybrid working, South West


Our client, a Local Authority in the South West of England is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Transformation Programme Manager. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the council's Transformation Plan and contribute to positive change within the community.


About the Role:

As a Transformation Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering key programmes associated with the Council's ambitious Transformation Plan. Your responsibilities will include coordinating projects, managing risks and issues, and ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders. Reporting to the Transformation Director, you will actively contribute to the scoping, planning, and successful delivery of transformative initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Scoping and planning programmes, monitoring progress, and identifying risks and issues.
  • Defining and supporting governance arrangements for the programme.
  • Managing the programme's budget, monitoring expenditure, and tracking benefits.
  • Coordinating the preparation of project and programme plans, risk and issues logs
  • Facilitating the transition of the programme to business as usual (BAU).
  • Leading and motivating others to embrace the vision of the Transformation Plan.


Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification in project/programme management, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in the public sector, particularly in Local Government.
  • Proven track record of planning, managing, and delivering complex strategic programmes
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and influence at different levels.
