I have a requirement for a Contract Frontend / UI Developer to support a global hedge fund on a long-term project.

Working closely with a team of Software Engineers and Economists, you will be responsible for modernizing the user interfaces of a suite of web applications. These apps predominantly focus on delivering insights from financial data. Your deliverable will involve building the UI dashboards that power the economist s recommendations to the traders and asset managers.

Role:

The core requirement for this role is for a UI developer with a strong eye for design, to collaborate closely with a talented team of economists, to update a series of applications which are heavily used by front-office. You can expect to build slick and modern UIs for web applications and dashboards. You will report into the Global Head of Development and work within a wider team of 5 Developers.

Key Tasks

• Transform the frontend of older applications into modern web apps with a focus on React & JavaScript.
• Work with Python Backend Developers and other Frontend UI Developers to iterate and execute high quality web frontends.
• Design and develop slick UIs and interactive dashboards following UI guide style.
• Collaborate with economists and researchers to understand their data visualization requirements and objectives.
• Speak to users and stakeholders to get their feedback on specific requirements and review work.

Ideal Profile:

• Strong experience in Front End development, particularly React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5.
• Good eye for design, ability to work with established design systems.
• Ability to work independently with good communication skills.
• Experience designing and building the UI for interactive dashboards
