A rare opportunity has arisen to join the operational team at Portsmouth. Reporting to the Wharf Manager, you will operate mobile and fixed plant to process marine dredged aggregates into sellable products. You will move materials and load vehicles to provide a excellent service to our customers. You will also help the wharf develop in all areas by working alongside the other team members in pushing forward ideas and actions.

About Your Role

  • Operate wheeled loading shovel, safely and efficiently
  • Operate fixed plant safely and efficiently
  • Carry out routine safety and maintenance checks
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses immediately
  • Help keep the site tidy and stock piles well managed.
  • Work with the team to comply with SHEQ procedures
  • Work with the team to aid customers collecting material
  • Work with the team to aid on site activities and improvements

We're Looking For

  • You will ideally hold a licence to operate a loading shovel and hold or be working towards a level 2 VQ for this.
  • A good communicator who works well with others.
  • Be flexible to working hours as required.
  • Good mechanical understanding of fixed and mobile plant.
  • Have the ability to problem solve and work with others on solutions.
  • Understand the processing of aggregates particularly in a marine environment.
